Dr. Dave is a Southern California native. At age six, in second grade, he drew a picture of himself as a dentist (click here). His apparent passion for dentistry at such a young age paved the way towards the enthusiasm he now exhibits at his Downtown San Diego practice. Dr. Dave combines his dental expertise and excitement for the latest technology with a fun-loving personality, making each visit as pleasurable as a dental visit could possibly be. AND IT CAN BE!!! At Coastal Dental Arts, the traditional icons you are used to seeing when you visit the dentist have been replaced with a cool, modern, one-of-a-kind environment. Kick back and enjoy the view of downtown San Diego or tune out with some music or TV. The difference at Coastal Dental Arts is obvious the moment you walk through the door. Dr. Dave received his doctorate from Boston University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. He earned a Bachelor of Science locally at San Diego State University. He is recognized by the Dental Board of California as a Continued Education Provider, and he is privileged to represent 3M ESPE in teaching his dental colleagues about new methods in dental technology. While away from his practice, Dr. Dave enjoys quality time with his wife and two children and, of course, playing golf.

Dr. Frank Mac received his Bachelor in Physiology from UC Davis in 1993 and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from UC San Francisco in 1998. After working several years as a general dentist, he decided to advance his education and completed his residency in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD in 2009. After twenty-one years of active service, deployments and humanitarian missions with the United States Navy, Dr. Mac is now in private practice full-time. Dr. Mac is a board-certified oral surgeon with the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. He is passionate about oral surgery with particular emphasis in Dentoalveolar Surgery and Dental Implants. Dr. Mac works very closely with Dr. Chotiner to provide you a complete restorative and surgical comprehensive dental service.

Dr. Spencer Nice is a general dentist who completed his undergraduate and dental degrees in Boston, Massachusetts. Prior to living in Boston, Dr. Nice was the child of diplomats and traveled extensively around the globe. He speaks English, French, Spanish and German, and he loves using his linguistic abilities to communicate with patients of all kinds. When he is not helping people smile through dentistry and his sense of humor, he enjoys exploring San Diego with his husband and, of course, their dog, aptly named Diego.

Prior to her dental hygiene training, she graduated with degrees in Biology, Pre-Nursing and Social and Behavioral Sciences. She loves keeping up with dental technology and getting to know each of her patients. In her time out of the office she likes to hike, surf and travel.

Kimia has been a registered dental hygienist since 2013, graduating with honor as class Vice President at Carrington College. She is very enthusiastic about dental hygiene and is very excited to meet our patients and educate them on their own personalized dental needs. Kimia has been known to be very gentle and thrives off the smiles she receives after every hygiene visit throughout the day. Outside of dentistry, you can catch Kimia running around the harbor, soaking up the sun at the beach and testing new dinner recipes at home!

Nataliya was born and raised in Ternopil, Ukraine. She came to San Diego when she was 11. Her passion for dentistry grew right out of high school. She became a registered dental assistant in 2011, and in 2018, she furthered her career goals by attending Concorde Career College to become a registered dental hygienist. Her dental philosophy is to create a positive and friendly environment to make her patients as comfortable as possible while she’s at their side. In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, going to the beach and playing tennis. She loves traveling back home and exploring new places.

She completed dental assistant training at Pima Medical Institute, and with the help of Dr. Chotiner and staff, was able to acquire her RDA license in March of 2016. She loves being a part of a state-of-the-art dental office that provides great quality care to patients. As a San Diego native, she enjoys exploring the city and spending quality time with her family.

Nicole first fell in love with the art of dentistry as an Invisalign® patient in high school. Inspired by the transformation of her own smile, she knew she wanted to be a part of providing that feeling to others. She completed Grossmont College Dental Assistant training in 2012. Her passion continues to grow as she keeps up with the newest dental technology and is able to provide exceptional patient care. Outside of the office, Nicole loves spending time with family, friends and her two fur babies.
